Front Nine

This hole has a serious dogleg right. A nice 200-yard shot will put you in the center of the dogleg, with a great look at the Green. A short to medium Iron will get you on, but keep to the left side. A reasonable drive, a routine approach, and you're putting for Birdie to start your round. |
A fairly straight shot traditionally down wind. Great for those long drive competitions in your group! Favor the left side off the tee as the landing areas slopes to the right. Two good shots set up an Eagle attempt early in your game, an easy Birdie, or a routine Par putt. Easiest hole at The Cape. |
Keep your drive to the right because the steep hills will keep even the most amateur golfer out of trouble. Avoid the tree trouble down the sides with a straight drive. The green slopes signifcantly to the left so aim right of the pin and you’re putting for Birdie, or easy Par. |
Where the Tee box ends, the water begins. Where the water ends, the Green begins. The back and left of the green are guarded by an extremely steep slope straight into a hazard. Dial it in with your favorite wedge and hit it straight. With all those negative thoughts, this hole can be difficult, but only if you let it. |
This fairway dog legs hard left about 100 yards from the green. A straight tee-shot sets up a relatively short uphill approach to a green that slopes heavily from back to front. Keep it below the pin or the dreaded three-putt could enter the picture. |
Don’t get greedy here. Par is a good score on this hole that features a picturesque view of Lake Livingston from the tee! Favor left side of fairway to keep the downhill tee-shot from wandering too far right. A downhill second shot to a green sloping away from you makes it difficult to get it close to most pin placements. Carry your approach to the front of the green... it will release to the hole. |
A tight dog leg left that rewards a 200-230 yard tee-shot with a short approach to a green that slopes from right to left. If you find the trees left, take your medicine and get back to the fairway. A prime opporunity to show off your post-Birdie fist pump, but don't be ashamed to record a Par. |
What you see from the Tee-box is what you get. Stay left of the pin, which will provide you an easy up-hill putt. A strong southeast wind can make this hole play longer than it appears, but not many obstacles stand in the way of you and another Birdie. |
Put that Driver back in the bag, as water lurks just over the horizon. A well placed 3-wood or a solid long-iron to the right side of the fairway will give you a good look at the Green from about 120 yards. A smallish green sloping from back to front is guarded in front by water, and on the sides by steep slopes that make make Par a good score. |
